Our beers are malt forward. How else could they be when we operate a malt house. We want to bring attention to malt, which is often overshadowed by its puny cousin hops. We have two core beers, Malt House Ale & Rye's Up Pale Ale, and 3 occasional beers.
Our Malt House Ale is our maltiest beer. It is made from equal parts of our Two Row, Vienna & Munich malts. It is very lightly hopped, resulting in a full bodied bready finish.
Our Rye's Up Pale Ale is a very special beer. All of the grains used in the malts of this beer were grown in the Maritimes. Rye's Up contains three malts; Two Row (barley), Wheat & Rye. The barley and the wheat are from PEI, and the rye was grown next door to the malt house.
We have a couple of beers on occasion; Island Wheat, Afternoon Tea & Roggenbier. Island Wheat is 80% PEI barley, and is a super summer session ale. Afternoon Tea is another wheat based beer finished on Asim Bonanga Rooibas tea from JustUs. The Roggenbier is made from 75% of our own rye.
